Jira is an issue tracking product developed by Atlassian that allows bug tracking and agile project management.

After selecting Jira from our destinations catalog, you will be required to enter your Jira Domain, Username, and API Token from your Jira account. Your Jira Domain is the text before in the URL, Username is the email you use to login to Jira, and if you do not already know your API Token, you can create one in your Jira account by navigating to Account Settings > Security > Create and manage API tokens.

Syncing rows to Jira

Hightouch supports syncing to the following Jira objects:
  • Issues
Issue objects in Jira will use a custom field to map the Jira issue to your row source unique id. To create a custom field:
  • Nagivate to Settings > Issues > Custom Fields.
  • Create custom field and create a Text Field (read only) field type.
Note: Ensure all issue fields and custom fields that require syncing are included in your project's screen. You can add custom field to the desired screen by navigating to the custom field > Associate to Screens

Sync Modes

Hightouch supports the following sync modes:
  • Upsert - pushes new objects to Jira and updates fields that change in your warehouse.
You can choose the Project and Issue Type you would like to sync to.

Record Matching

Records can be matched from your source to the Jira workspace by using the Text Field (read only) custom field.

Field Mapping

You can sync columns from your source to Jira's issue fields available to your selected Project and Issue Type. In order to sync successfully, ensure the Description field is in Atlassian Document Format and that source data representing the following fields are of these types:
  • parent -> id
  • priority -> name (i.e. Highest, High, Medium, Low, or Lowest)
  • creator -> accountId
  • assignee -> accountId
  • reporter -> accountId
Note: Hightouch does not currently offer syncs for Status fields, this will have to be done manually in the Jira dashboard.
